FR-F740 frequency inverter drives from Mitsubishi Electric are designed for the special needs of pumps and fans. These inverters can significantly enhance the energy balance of pump and fan applications - particularly in the low-speed range and in low-load operation, where energy savings of up to 60% can be achieved. Additional savings are made possible by Mitsubishi Electrics innovative OEC (Optimum Excitation Control) technology. This system ensures that the optimum magnetic flux is always applied to the motor, thus reducing losses. The result is maximum utilisation of motor capacity at maximum efficiency.
The FR-F740 complies with all major applicable standards, such as CE, UL and cUL, ensuring that it can be sold freely throughout Europe. In addition to this the frequency inverters have the GOST certificate required for exports to Russia. The series has been developed in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard and the ISO 14001 environmental standard. It includes models with a broad output range, from 0.75kW all the way to 630kW.
Mitsubishi Electrics engineers have designed these drives with a focus on maximum simplicity. In addition to intuitive design and modular architecture the FR-F 740 inverters also support flexible expansion. Standard equipment includes an EMC filter for compliance with the applicable EU standard (EN 55011A / Second Environment).
The integrated control panel with the one-touch Digital Dial enables fast and efficient entry of all necessary drive parameters. An alphanumeric control panel with multiple language support and a copy functions is available as an alternative. Both display panels feature an intuitive menu system, making operation and programming fast and simple.
Many protection and overload functions ensure trouble-free operation, for example phase failure monitoring for both power supply and motor. Comprehensive controls and data management features deliver ongoing information on current drive status. This includes automatic service notification messages to warn you in advance when wear parts like the integrated cooling fans or the DC bus capacitors need to be replaced.
The new FR-F740 series has connectivity for all major open field bus systems like LonWorks, the worldwide communications standard for building automation, and also Profibus/DP, DeviceNet and CC-Link. Other communications facilities, like the integrated RS-485/Modbus RTU interface and the optional USB port, make it possible to create multidrop configurations (with up to 32 stations) and to connect the inverters to the latest PC and process visualisation systems.
The units of the FR-F740 series have 12 fully-programmable digital inputs and outputs, plus 5 transistor outputs and 3 relay outputs. The analog outputs are fully-scaleable from 0(4) - 20mA and 0 - 10V.
